Florence Hassett is an undergraduate student at Georgia State University majoring in Geosciences with a concentration in Urban Studies. She plans to graduate in Spring of 2027. Florence graduated from Vel Phillips Memorial High School in 2023 and began working in Dr. Burnet’s lab that same year through the GSU University Assistantship Program. She is a member of the Honors College and hopes to work in disaster relief and management once she has completed her education. Through Dr. Burnet’s lab she hopes to learn research skills, gain experience with GIS and mapping tools for information communication, and better understand the social landscape of Georgia and the Southeast.
